Most "luxury resorts" serve alcohol everywhere, and the rare genuinely dry properties get lost among vague marketing pages. The good news: real 5-star alcohol-free hotels and resorts do exist, each offering either a villa with a private pool or a women-only pool. We checked a selection of them, one by one.

Hilton Garden Inn Muscat Al Khuwair Women's pool

Muscat, Oman. According to the official Hilton website, this is an "alcohol free hotel," with a pool and fitness area reserved for women. Central, good value for money.

I'm not 100% sure about this oneThe "alcohol-free" claim comes from Hilton itself, but some booking platforms mention a "bar" (probably a juice bar). Before booking it as a dry property, confirm directly with the hotel.

Simaisma, a Murwab Resort Private pool

Doha, Qatar. A family beach resort 45 minutes from Doha, fully alcohol-free, with 2- to 4-bedroom villas, several of which have their own private pool. Private beach, spa, an exclusively family-oriented spirit: a safe bet for a family stay in Qatar, alongside or as an alternative to Banana Island.

A booking habit worth keepingThese properties are alcohol-free, and each offers at least one villa or room with a private pool (or a women's pool). When the private pool is tied to a specific category, choose it explicitly when booking rather than a standard room.

Turkey: the largest alcohol-free hub

Something many people don't know: Turkey has the largest cluster of resorts that are entirely alcohol-free anywhere in the world — bars, poolside, and minibars included — with some of the best-designed women's areas around. Contrary to popular belief, these properties aren't "halal-friendly with a hidden bar elsewhere": the addresses below are dry across the whole site.
